A tax-free disability benefit which replaced Disability Living Allowance.
Paid by employers for a maximum of 28 weeks to people who are ‘off sick’ from work.
A tax-free benefit for those who have reached pensionable age and who need help with personal care because of illness or disability.
Entitlement based on National Insurance contributions
A means-tested ‘top up’ benefit for older people who have reached state pension age and are on a low income.
A benefit payable to working age unemployed people who are found to be available and fit for work (formerly known as Jobseekers Allowance).
